To comply with the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) policy on the application of the Provision and Use of Work and Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) to winching operations, it is recommended that a winch thorough examination should be carried out at regular intervals (either at least every 6 months or 12 months depending on whether the lifting equipment is for lifting people or not)
